Our fun taxi-boat-taxi shortcut operates daily, rain or shine (for passengers only, it's not a car ferry!)

Transfer land / boat / transfer land shortcut 1/2 hour by taxi from the Arenal Hotel ( you will be pick up at the lobby of your hotel) to the dam, then a beautiful 30 minutes cruise on the lake of Arenal to Rio Chiquito, and finally a 1.5 hour scenic ride by 4x4 or mini bus (depending on road conditions) to Monteverde. It’s a quick and nice 2.5 to 3 hour tour, one way. This Tour Transfers can be done in the morning or in the afternoon.
This is by far a great way to get a transfer done and have a tour as well. The boat ride will give you great photo opportunity of the great Arenal Volcano and the lake. Them you will see the transition from the Arenal Jungle up to the Costa Rica Tropical Rain Forest of Monteverde. The farming that is done in this area great vista of the Arenal Volcano on your land transfer.

1. Pick up in La Fortuna or from your hotel in the Arenal area at 8h30 am or 2h30 pm.
2. Arenal Lake Dam dock: after a 15 to 30 minutes ride depending on the location of your hotel with a comfortable mini bus a/c, we reach the dam of lake Arenal, boarding our covered 22 passenger boat powered by a new 4 stroke 115 HP engine for a fun 30 minutes cruise on the majestic Arenal Lake with great views of the active volcano & the Monteverde mountain range. All our boats & mini buses are comfortable, safe & fully insured.
3. Rio Chiquito dock: a 1.5 hour ride by mini bus a/c which brings you directly to your hotel in the Monteverde Cloud Forest area..
